RBR DIVE SITE

BANG-OG 2

BANG-OG 2 is defined by dense stands of branching soft corals, forming a miniature underwater forest. Small reef fish move among the coral heads, and anemonefish may be seen in shallower sections. Nudibranchs and tiny crustaceans use the colors, shapes, and textures of the soft corals to remain nearly invisible. A quick swim-through misses the point: this site rewards slow observation of how animals live within their habitat. Photography should be conducted without touching or moving the corals. A strong site for environmental macro, soft-coral textures, camouflage, and behavior. Maintain neutral buoyancy and working distance to protect the delicate branches while photographing their resident animals. Soft-coral-mimicking nudibranchs, Ghost Melibe, Denise’s pygmy seahorses, hairy shrimp, small crabs, and anemonefish.
