CANYON 1
Just offshore from the resort, CANYON 1 brings together pale sand, seagrass beds, and scattered coral patches in a remarkably compact habitat. By day, nudibranchs, hairy shrimp, and tiny crustaceans may be found among the seagrass, sand, and reef crevices. After sunset, nocturnal life adds another layer of discovery. This is a place for unhurried observation, where returning to a small patch of seabed can be more rewarding than covering a long distance. Entry and the photography route are chosen by the dive guide according to the day’s conditions. Daytime macro subjects among seagrass, sand, and reef crevices; nocturnal shrimp and other cryptic life after dark. Well suited to patient searching, careful composition, and repeated photography within a small area. Tiger-patterned and butterfly-like nudibranchs, hairy shrimp, candy crabs, sashimi shrimp, shell-mimicking shrimp, and other small crustaceans.
